Dear Coastline ROP Community,
As we look ahead in 2026, Coastline ROP remains dedicated to empowering students with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in college, career, and life. Over the past year, we continued to strengthen and grow Career Technical Education (CTE) opportunities across our partner districts—Irvine Unified, Newport-Mesa Unified, Saddleback Valley Unified, and Tustin Unified—while staying responsive to changing workforce needs and student interests.
Our mission, as highlighted in the first sentence above, continues to guide every decision we make. Coastline ROP provides rigorous, hands-on learning aligned to industry expectations and future workforce trends. From innovative offerings in areas like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to high-demand pathways in healthcare, automotive, public safety, and skilled trades, students learn by doing, building confidence, competence, and real-world readiness.
In 2026, we are also advancing our three-year strategic plan with a clear focus on three priorities:
- Engagement & Awareness: expanding outreach, strengthening connections with counselors and families, and increasing transparency by sharing meaningful program data.
- Fiscal Responsibility: improving budgeting practices, using technology to increase efficiency, and building partnerships that support sustainability and student opportunity.
- Organizational Culture: investing in staff collaboration, communication, and continuous learning to strengthen the student experience districtwide.
What makes Coastline ROP truly special is our commitment to preparing every student for “what’s next.” Whether students are entering the workforce, pursuing higher education, or serving in the military, they graduate with technical skills, professional (employability) skills, and industry certifications and college credit that open doors. Through partnerships with local business and community organizations, students also benefit from internships and work-based learning that connect classroom learning to real careers.
We also continue to challenge outdated perceptions about ROP programs. Coastline ROP courses are academically meaningful and intentionally build the skills employers consistently demand (communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, leadership) embedded in every pathway and every learning experience.
As Superintendent, I am honored to lead this exceptional organization. Thank you to our students, families, staff, district partners, board, and community for your continued support. Together, we will keep expanding opportunity, strengthening pathways, and ensuring Coastline ROP students are prepared not just for graduation, but for the future they choose.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian K. Dozer
Superintendent, Coastline ROP
